Abstract The composition and the distribution of the benthos foraminifers in the upper Pleistocene-Holocene sediments of the 2 parts of the Okhotsk Sea (the elevation of the Academy of Sciences (st. B34-90) and on the southern Kamchatka (st. B34-98) slope) are investigated. The comparative ecological analysis carried out revealed the significant differences in the foraminifer communities of the glacial period, deglaciation, and post- glaciation in these areas conditioned by their different locations in relation to the sources of the intermediate basin water formation.
