| Abstract | The Encyclopedia of the Antarctic contains 495 individual, alphabetically arranged entries of 500 to 6000 words each. Each entry is cited separately in the Antarctic Bibliography. A comprehensive overview of climate influences in the Antarctic is presented. Sections include: Climatic forcing factors; Climate broad types of Antarctica; Climatic consequences of the net radiation deficit; Mean and variability patterns of climate parameters; Synoptic climatology; and Modes of sea ice--atmosphere coupled variability.
