| Abstract | Report of meeting of Scientific Committee of International Whaling Commission, held May 30-June 10, 2005 in Ulsan, Korea. Includes revised management procedures; estimation of bycatch and other human-induced mortality; aboriginal subsistence whaling management procedure, and stock assessment of bowhead, right and grey whales in Bering-Chukchi-Beaufort Seas and eastern North Pacific; stocks of minke whales in Southern Ocean and North Pacific; definition of population stocks; environmental concerns, including relationship between sea ice and whale habitat; DNA testing; review of scientific permits; and issues relating to whale sanctuaries and whale watching. |
