Abstract The Encyclopedia of the Antarctic contains 495 individual, alphabetically arranged entries of 500 to 6000 words each. Each entry is cited separately in the Antarctic Bibliography. The Antarctic fur seal (Arctocephalus gazelle) is the only member of the Family Otariidae endemic to the Southern Ocean. (mte)
